Senior Services

The Musgrave Foundation provides economic assistance to seniors as evidenced by its support of the Southwest Missouri Office on Aging and many other charities which provide services to seniors.

In 1989 the Southwest Missouri Office on Aging Foundation (SWMOA) was established to receive and distribute tax deductible donations to help fund programs and services for Seniors. In addition to sponsoring fundraising events, the Foundation provides information about opportunities for participating in one-time donations, memorial gifts and trust funds.

Services offered through SWMOA are provided to Seniors on a contribution basis, but no one is denied assistance because of inability to pay.

SWMOA serves 17 counties in southwest Missouri, offering a wide range of senior services, including over 40 senior centers. Help with assistive living and benefits, legal, Medicare and tax assistance, in-home services, environmental screenings and transportation are just a few of the services offered by the Foundation and its volunteers. Visit the SWMOA web site for additional information.

My Story

The blessing of a functional kitchen, equipped for efficiency and reliability, as well as refreshment and respite, through Musgrave assistance provided a major message of encouragement, incentive, and blessing, on behalf of Jeannette Musgrave, who valued community service workers and those who befriended seniors. This grant project sent a grand "hug of validation" to the 22 workers within the building who work long, hard hours making the "impossible possible" for thousands of clients.

The Musgrave Foundation has helped us make a special statement of welcome and invitation to those who have disabilities, to the volunteers who give of themselves to our work, and, now to our staff, our donors, and the community organizations with which we share our facilities.

We are THRILLED with the improvements to kitchen capacity, opening new opportunities for senior service hospitality. We are honored Musgrave has partnered with us in enlarging kitchen function to better accommodate service partnerships, staff development, and public senior service outreach. THANK YOU!
